ABAMCS Course Details
STEP 3: DIPLOMA IN NON-SURGICAL AESTHETIC MEDICINE
Integrate Modalities. Personalize Treatment. Develop a Comprehensive Aesthetic Practice.
Step 3: Diploma in Non-Surgical Aesthetic Medicine represents the advanced stage of the American Board of Aesthetic Medicine and Cosmetic Surgery (ABAMCS) educational pathway.
Building upon the anatomical, injectable, and clinical foundations developed through Steps 1 and 2, this intensive three-day program broadens the participant’s approach to aesthetic medicine through regenerative treatments, combination therapies, thread lifting, body contouring, scar management, facial and body rejuvenation, and aesthetic practice development.
The program moves beyond treating individual aesthetic concerns with a single procedure and introduces a more integrated approach:
Patient Assessment → Treatment Selection → Combination Therapy → Clinical Technique → Long-Term Treatment Strategy
Through structured lectures, clinical discussions, demonstrations, and supervised hands-on training, participants explore how different aesthetic modalities may be combined to develop more comprehensive and individualized treatment strategies.
Regenerative Aesthetics & Non-Surgical Body Treatments
The first component focuses on Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) and regenerative aesthetic concepts.
Participants explore:
-
Essential Anesthesia Techniques and Field Blocks
-
The Science Behind PRP
-
Periocular Rejuvenation
-
PRP for Hair Restoration
-
P-Shot and O-Shot
-
PRP in the Treatment of Complications
-
Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF)
-
Exosomes
-
Combining Treatment Modalities with PRP
The curriculum then expands into non-surgical body sculpting and cellulite treatments, including:
-
CoolSculpting
-
Emsculpt
-
SculpSure
-
MicroRF
-
Cellulite Treatment
-
Dimple Release
The theoretical component is reinforced through an extended hands-on and demonstration session.
Thread Lifting, Combination Therapy & Fat Transfer
The second component focuses on thread-based rejuvenation and multimodal aesthetic treatment planning.
Participants examine different types of threads and their uses, anesthesia for thread procedures, patient evaluation, treatment expectations, vectors and patient marking, tissue repositioning, the aging face, and appropriate candidate selection.
The curriculum then explores the integration of threads with:
-
Hyaluronic Acid Fillers
-
Sculptra
-
Lasers
-
Microneedling RF
-
Other Energy-Based Treatments
Particular attention is given to complications and management of complications when combining aesthetic modalities.
The program also introduces fat transfer, including the concept of fat as a filler, Nano Fat, and stem cells.
These concepts are followed by live demonstration and supervised hands-on training.
Scar Management & Comprehensive Rejuvenation
The third component focuses on developing a broader, multimodal approach to aesthetic rejuvenation.
Participants explore the anatomy and development of scars, including:
-
Acne Scars
-
Stretch Marks
-
Microneedling
-
PRP
-
MicroRF
-
Lasers
-
Sculptra
-
Subcision
The program demonstrates how multiple modalities may be combined when approaching different types of scars.
Hand, Face, Neck & Décolleté Rejuvenation
Participants also explore hand rejuvenation using multiple treatment modalities, including:
-
Blunt Cannulas
-
PRP
-
Fat & Nano Fat
-
IPL
-
Fractional Laser
-
MicroRF
-
Sculptra
-
Dermal Fillers
Advanced facial rejuvenation concepts revisit the strategic use of neuromodulators and fillers for brow lifting, facial contouring, lip flip, perioral lines, and lip enhancement.
The curriculum also addresses neck and décolleté rejuvenation, emphasizing the combination of treatment modalities rather than reliance on a single procedure.
The Aesthetic Practice
Clinical capability alone does not create a successful aesthetic practice.
Step 3 therefore concludes with an introduction to important operational and patient-experience considerations within aesthetic medicine, including:
-
The Patient Experience
-
Marketing
-
Financial Options
-
Clinic Environment and Presentation
-
Staff Training
-
Financial Conversations with Patients
This component encourages participants to consider aesthetic medicine not only from a procedural perspective, but as an integrated clinical service requiring appropriate systems, patient communication, staff preparation, and practice management.

Hands-On & Multimodal Clinical Training
Step 3 places particular emphasis on combination treatment strategies.
Rather than approaching aesthetic concerns through isolated procedures, participants are introduced to the principles of integrating regenerative treatments, injectables, threads, energy-based devices, and other non-surgical modalities according to the patient’s presentation and treatment objectives.
Each day includes an extended hands-on and demonstration session, allowing participants to connect theoretical concepts with supervised practical clinical exposure.
